Lions Youth Exchange Students Enjoy a Taste of Somerset 2019

The Lions International Youth Exchange programme got off to a great start for Mette, who was hosted by Suzanne Green and Richard Holt on behalf of Chedddar Vale Lions Club.  Mette went on to enjoy varied activities and visits, along with Emir from Turkey and Josip from Croatia, who were both hosted by Lions Sally and Colin Marsh of Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club.  The students were great company and most appreciative of all that was organised for them during the hosting week. They also had a fantastic time at the Lions Youth Camp in Doncaster, where lasting friendships were forged.  Mette sent the following photos and message to you all at Cheddar Vale.

Hello.

After 17 days in England and a safe journey home I now have the best feeling of graditude and great memories. I must say a big thank you to your club for organising this wonderful program in the week where I visited your lion club area (and of course the other lions clubs areas too).

You have all been so, so kind and I always felt very secure, welcome and in real good company all of the time. The program was well thought through and you have all been so open-minded and easy to talk with. Thank you for that!

Now I feel a bit sad to be at home but it makes me happy to think about the fact that another exchange student will meet you all and hopefully have just as lovely of a trip as I did, next year.

Mette Marie Bjerg Boiesen from Denmark Yours sincerely, Mette Marie Bjerg Boiesen from Denmark (exchange student in 2019)
